Do you consider yourself an information security professional?
Have you been working as an information security practitioner
for at least three years? Are you going to attempt to
make a career out of information security? You should
seriously consider seeking certification as a Certified
Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Even
if information security is only part of your overall job

CISSP certification is only available to those qualified
candidates who successfully pass the examination created

must first qualify to take the CISSP exam by showing 3
years of cumulative experience in one or more of the 10
domains of the common body of knowledge.

professional work experience in one or more of the

Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) or three years of
direct full-time security professional work

Knowledge (CBK) with a college degree.
Additionally, a Master's Degree in Information
Security from a National Center of Excellence can
substitute for one year towards the four-year
requirement.
