  Certification Summary:  
 
For individuals wishing to prove hands-on expertise as security specialists. All exams are vendor-neutral, although some will represent specialty in a particular vendor's products. The FCSS certification is obtained by following one of three tracks: Cisco, CheckPoint and Cross Platform Security Specialist. This certification is currently under development.
 
     
  Initial requirements:  
 
Individuals who already hold a Cisco CCIE, Novell CDE, or Red Hat RHCE designation will receive direct admittance into the FCP designation. Admittance may also be provided for candidates who hold other certifications as permitted by the FCPA. Candidates who do not hold the certifications above must pass a hands-on practical FCSS exam in one of the three tracks (Cisco, CheckPoint and Cross Platform Security Specialist) which are currently under development. Candidates who have had three years job experience and have already reached the A+, CNA, CNE, MCSE 4, or CCNA status may take a Fast-Track exam to receive the FCP designation.
 
   
  Continuing requirements:  
 
RFCPA certifications do not expire, however they are version-specific. If a newer version of a product is released, you ill need to take a certification exam in order to be certified in the newer product.
 
     
   
  Course outline:  
    These exams are designed for those who would be regarded as Security Specialists in the IT industry. These exams are generally vendor-independent and/or market neutral, although some are focused on specific vendor products and generally represent specialty in vendor’s products.

*   Mid-level IT personnel, auditors
*   IT professionals responsible for managing network infrastructure, including security tools, as part of their daily routine
