T.I.C.S.A. represents the base level of certification,
and is designed for systems or network administrators
who may be responsible for the security administration
of systems or networks in an enterprise as an additional
duty alongside their regular responsibilities. This first-tier
certification recognizes that not all security professionals
need to become security wizards to be engaged in serious
and effective security work. This certification is designed
for professionals with a background in computers and networking.
The typical T.I.C.S.A. candidate will be working in a
network or system administration position, or be moving
into such a position upon entering the workforce after
an undergraduate degree program. The candidate may already
have a security-related position. It is also designed
for those already knowledgeable in basic network security
topics, as a stepping-stone to higher levels of certification
